Woman of Steel

I am now officially a triathlete! On May 19, I completed the Woman of Steel Triathlon in Bountiful, Utah. It was a women-only event, and it was a blast! I finished 65th out of 375 participants, in 1 hour 11 mins. Below is a breakdown of the different intervals:

Swim: Time: 00:06:28.150, Place: 133
That's me in the middle lane, approaching the wall

Transition 1: Time: 00:03:41.130, Place: 235
I'm putting my shirt on after the swim

Bike
Time: 00:34:13.01
Pace: 18 mph
Place: 38

I'm in the blue top and white helmet

Transition 2
Time: 00:01:24.71
Place: 173
Hanging up my bike and getting ready to run

Run: Time: 00:25:33.130
Pace: 8:39.7 min/mile, Place: 83
Almost done--behind in the blue top and white hat

FINISH!!!
Race Start: 07:15:26.960 / Stop Time: 08:26:47.090
Total Time: 01:11:20.13 / Overall Place: 65

I was especially happy with my bike time (placed 38th overall!) and my run was a lot faster paced than what I normally train at. Regardless, I had a great time! I actually just finished another triathlon on Saturday with all of David's family. Oh, and I've just registered for an Olympic distance triathlon in July. Wish me luck! :)
